Frequently asked questions

What inspired you to start writing?

I’ve always had stories playing out in my head—worlds and characters inspired by the angst and love stories of the teen TV dramas I couldn’t get enough of. After not reading for a long time, Twilight reminded me how books could deliver that same emotional rush. But as someone who wasn’t seventeen anymore, I was looking for something more in my stories.

Reading the “2B Trilogy” by Ann Aguirre changed everything. I’d discovered New Adult romance. From there, I stumbled upon high school-set books with a TV-MA edge—authors like Jay McLean, Ginger Scott, Penelope Douglas, and Tijan—and I was hooked on the emotional intensity and the kind of chemistry that stayed with me long after I’d closed the book.

I’d found my niche, and the stories in my head were demanding to be written. The Rising Stars Duet was the first to arrive—and once it did, there was no turning back. Now, I just want to share them all.

Are your books based on personal experiences?

My books are fictional, but that’s not to say little moments from my life don’t sneak their way in! I don’t base characters on anyone I know, but I think it’s natural for readers—whether they know me or not—to see pieces of themselves in the story. And that’s cool. If my characters resonate with someone, then I’ve done my job.

What genres do you write, and what can readers expect?

I write New Adult romance, mostly set in high school and college. I’m drawn to those messy, emotional years when it feels like the world is against you—but you’re also on the edge of taking it on. Everything feels big and life-defining, like the end and beginning of everything all at once. So much angst. Gah, I love it.

Do your stories include explicit content or ‘spice’?

Yes, there’s spice. I write new adult contemporary romance packed with heart-wrenching drama, high stakes, and steamy moments. Even my stories set in high school bring the heat—always crafted for adult readers who crave messy, angsty romance that delivers all the feels.

How many books have you published, and is there a recommended reading order?

I’ve published the Rising Stars Duet, which introduces the world of Braemore. I’m currently working on a new series featuring characters who first appeared in the duet—this time as main characters with stories of their own.

Where can I buy your books?

At the moment, you can find my books exclusively on Amazon—available in both Kindle and paperback formats. Happy reading!

Will you be writing sequels or spin-offs?

Absolutely! All of my books are set in the fictional town of Braemore, and I have so many more stories to tell in this world.

Right now, I’m working on a four-book series featuring characters who first appeared in the Rising Stars Duet. If you loved that world—get ready to dive even deeper.

How do you develop your characters and their relationships?

Usually, they don’t stop talking to me—constantly showing me who they are. There are so many of them shouting to be heard in my head. Once I choose the one who makes the most sense to write, they become real to me—and that’s when their story unfolds.

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?

Read craft books, sign up for workshops and courses, and never stop learning! The internet is packed with incredible resources—use them to your advantage. And find your people. Local writing groups (and online communities) are great for motivation, accountability, and support from others just as passionate about telling stories as you are.

But above all, back yourself. Writing can be lonely—full of doubt and second-guessing. Stick with it. Trust your instincts. Don’t write the story you think you should—write the one that won’t leave you alone. That’s the story worth telling.
